सन् 1955 को बसंत पंचमी के पावन दिन में पिता सुघर सिंह तथा माता मूर्ति देवी के कनिष्ठ पुत्र के रूप में जन्मे शिवपाल सिंह यादव काफी उदारवादी थे । ‌‌‌अपने नेता मुलायम सिंह यादव से जन संघर्षों के अंदर भाग लेना भी सीखा।इनके पिता सुधर सिंह अत्यंत सरल हृदय एवं कर्मठ किसान थे एवं माता स्वर्गीय श्रीमती मूर्ती देवी एक कुशल गृहिणी थी।

‌‌‌वे समाजवादी पार्टी की स्थापना करने वाले मुलायम सिंह यादव के छोटे भाई हैं।मायावती सरकार के कार्यकाल में 5 मार्च 2012 तक प्रतिपक्ष के नेता  भी रह चुके हैं।

शिवपाल सिंह यादव ने गांव की प्राथमिक पाठशाला से पूर्व माध्यमिक शिक्षा उत्तम श्रेणी में उत्तीर्ण की। इसके पश्चात् हाईस्कूल व इण्टरमीडिएट की शिक्षा  जैन इण्टर काॅलेज, करहल, मैनपुरी में पूर्ण की थी।सन 1972 ई के अंदर हाई स्कूल और सन  1974 ई के अंदर इंटरमिडियट की परीक्षा उतिर्ण की थी।

शिवपाल सिंह यादव ने स्नातक की पढ़ाई सन् 1976 में के०के०डिग्री कालेज इटावा के अंदर प्रवेश भी लिया था। उसके बाद सन् 1977 में लखनऊ विश्वविद्यालय से बी०पी०एड० शिक्षा प्राप्त की थी।

शिवपाल सिंह यादव का विवाह 23-मई-1981 को हुआ था। और इनकी पत्नी का नाम सरला यादव है इनकी एक पुत्री का नाम अनुभवा यादव है और एक पुत्र आदित्य यादव है।

Shivpal Yadav was born on 6 April 1955 in Saifai village, Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh. He was a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from 2007–12 representing Jaswantnagar seat in Etawah district. He is the founder of Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia).

Shivpal Singh Yadav, born on the auspicious day of Basant Panchami in 1955 as the junior son of father Sughar Singh and mother Murti Devi, was quite a liberal. He also learned to participate in public struggles from his leader Mulayam Singh Yadav. His father Sudhar Singh was a very simple hearted and hardworking farmer and mother Late Smt. Murti Devi was a skilled housewife.

He is the younger brother of Mulayam Singh Yadav, who founded the Samajwadi Party. He has also been the Leader of the Opposition till March 5, 2012 during the tenure of Mayawati government.

Shivpal Singh Yadav passed the pre-secondary education in the best class from the primary school of the village. After this, the education of High School and Intermediate was completed in Jain Inter College, Karhal, Mainpuri. High School in 1972 AD and Intermediate examination was passed in 1974 AD.

Shivpal Singh Yadav did his graduation in 1976 and took admission in KK Degree College, Etawah. After that, in 1977, he received B.P.Ed from Lucknow University.

Shivpal Singh Yadav was married on 23-May-1981. And the name of his wife is Sarla Yadav, he has a daughter named Anubhav Yadav and a son is Aditya Yadav.

‌‌‌यह सामाजिक और राजनितिक गतिविधियों के अंदर बाल्यकाल से ही सक्रिय रहे हैं।जैसे कि क्षेत्रों के अंदर घूम घूम कर मरीजों को अस्पताल पहुंचाना । और पिड़ितों को न्याय दिलाने के लिए कोर्ट कचहरी के अंदर चक्कर लगाना । ‌‌‌नेताओं के पर्चों को भी जनता के बीच बांटना ।मधु लिमये, बाबू कपिलदेव, चौधरी चरण सिंह, जनेश्वर मिश्र जी जैसे बड़े नेताओं के आगमन पर उनकी सभा करवाने की भी जिम्मेदारी भी शिवपाल जी ही करते थे ।

1988 से 1991 और पुनः 1993 में जिला सहकारी बैंक, इटावा के अध्यक्ष चुने गये। 1995 से लेकर 1996 तक इटावा के जिला पंचायत अध्यक्ष भी रहे। इसी बीच 1994 से 1998 के अंतराल में उत्तरप्रदेश सहकारी ग्राम विकास बैंक के भी अध्यक्ष का पद भी उन्होंने ही संभाला था।

तेरहवीं विधानसभा में वे जसवन्तनगर से विधानसभा का चुनाव लड़े और जीत हाशिल कि उनके बाद उनको समाजवादी पार्टी के महासचिव का पद दिया गया ।

‌‌‌उसके बाद इस पद पर रहते हुए उन्होंने अनेक ऐसे कार्य किये जिसकी वजह से समाजवादी पार्टी काफी अधिक लोकप्रिय हो गई ।

प्रदेश अध्यक्ष रामशरण दास जी की अस्वस्थता  होने पर 01 नवम्बर, 2007 को मेरठ अधिवेशन में शिवपाल जी को कार्यवाहक अध्यक्ष भी इनको बना दिया गया । बाढ़-सूखा, भूकम्प जैसी आपदा आने पर यह जनता के साथ खड़े रहे और पुलिस के अत्याचारों के विरूद आवाज उठाते रहे । इन्होंने कई बार गिरफतारियां दी और उसके बाद जब चुनाव आया तो इनको 60 फीसदी से अधिक वोट मिले और भारी मतो से जीत दर्ज की ।

डा0 लोहिया, कभी अशफाक उल्ला खान, कभी चन्द्रशेखर आजाद तो कभी मधु लिमये की जयन्ती और अन्य अवसरों पर लेख लिखकर छोटी किताबें छपवाई और उनको जनता के अंदर बंटवाया जिसकी वजह से इनकी लोक प्रियता और अधिक बढ़ती चली गई ।

दैनिक जागरण, अमर उजाला, राष्ट्रीय सहारा, जनाग्रह (बंगलुरू), डेली न्यूज एक्टिविस्ट, जन संदेश जैसी बड़ी पत्रिकाओं के अंदर भी इनके लेख प्रमुखता से प्रकाशित होते रहते थे ।

‌‌‌शिवपाल सिंह यादव जब विपक्ष की भूमिका मे थे तब जन संघर्ष के अंदर कई बार जेल गए ।सन 2012 ई के अंदर सरकार बनने के बाद उन्हें लोक निर्माण, सिंचाई, सहकारिता मंत्री की जिम्मेदारी दी गयी। और उन्होंने भ्रष्टाचार को समाप्त करने के लिए अनेक कार्य किये ।

‌‌‌शिवपाल यादव की एक बेटी अनुभवा यादव है जिसकी शादी आइएस अफसर से हुई है।इनका नाम अजय है और यह तमिलनाडू के अंदर आई एस पद पर कार्यरत हैं। ‌‌‌अनुभवा यादव पैसे से एक डॉक्टर है। ‌‌‌वह एक अस्पताल चलाती है जिसका आरम्भ सन 2020 ई के अंदर खुद शिवपाल यादव ने किया था।

He has been active in social and political activities since childhood. Such as roaming around the areas and taking patients to the hospital. And to go around inside the court to get justice for the victims. On the arrival of big leaders like Madhu Limaye, Babu Kapildev, Chaudhary Charan Singh, Janeshwar Mishra, Shivpal ji also used to do the responsibility of getting their meetings organized among the public.

From 1988 to 1991 and again in 1993, he was elected as the President of District Co-operative Bank, Etawah. He was also the District Panchayat President of Etawah from 1995 to 1996. Meanwhile, in the interval from 1994 to 1998, he had also held the post of chairman of Uttar Pradesh Sahakari Gram Vikas Bank.

In the thirteenth assembly, he contested the assembly elections from Jaswantnagar and won the post of General Secretary of the Samajwadi Party.

After that, while in this post, he did many such works, due to which the Samajwadi Party became very popular.

On November 01, 2007, in the Meerut convention, Shivpal ji was made the acting president due to the ill health of the state president Ramsharan Das ji. When disasters like floods, droughts, earthquakes occurred, he stood with the public and raised his voice against the atrocities of the police. He made several arrests and after that when the election came, he got more than 60 percent of the votes and won with a huge vote.

Dr. Lohia, sometimes Ashfaq Ulla Khan, sometimes Chandrashekhar Azad and sometimes on Madhu Limaye’s birth anniversary and other occasions, published small books by writing articles and distributed them among the public, due to which their popularity went on increasing more and more.

His articles were also prominently published in big magazines like Dainik Jagran, Amar Ujala, Rashtriya Sahara, Janagraha (Bangalore), Daily News Activist, Jan Sandesh.

When Shivpal Singh Yadav was in the role of opposition, he went to jail several times in the mass struggle. And he did many things to end corruption.

Shivpal Yadav has a daughter, Anubhav Yadav, who is married to an IS officer. Her name is Ajay and she is working on the post of IS inside Tamil Nadu. Anubhav Yadav is a doctor with money. She runs a hospital which was started by Shivpal Yadav himself in the year 2020.
